Susanne Leeb is the new director of the LBG Career Center

On April 1, Susanne Leeb (44) took over the management of the Career Center of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft.

In her new role, Susanne Leeb is responsible for the strategic orientation of the Career Center, the (further) development of career development services, as well as networking and cooperation with various stakeholders in science, business and the public sector.

Born in Germany, Susanne Leeb holds a degree in business administration and is an expert in HR management, personnel and organizational development with sound education and training and many years of professional experience in the aforementioned areas. Susanne Leeb worked for more than 10 years in international, medium-sized companies and supported them with her expertise in setting up, optimizing and managing HR and organizational development processes and structures.

In her previous position at the Career Center of the Vienna University of Technology, she worked for 5 years at the interface between university, science and industry and was the head of the career counseling and development team which serves students, graduates and pre/postdocs. In addition, she advised companies as an HR consultant with her know-how in employer branding and talent management regarding suitable strategies and formats at the TU Vienna.

Susanne Leeb sees the need for the work of the Career Center more than ever! This is also confirmed by a recently commissioned IHS study. For example, the 20,000 doctoral students and more than 2,000 doctoral graduates in Austria each year have only a very limited range of long-term university employment opportunities at their disposal, only a few have real chances of finding a permanent, secure job in science. The need of an early stage career support for young scientists to develop their individual career paths within or outside science is accordingly seen as very important. More info about the study will follow next week on our website

The team of the Career Center is delighted to welcome Susanne Leeb with all her professional expertise and we look forward to a successful cooperation in supporting researchers and leaders in their individual career development.
