On 12 November 2025, the first Vienna Postdoc Career Day 2025 will take place, jointly organised by the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG) Career Center and the University of Vienna. This collaboration, supported by the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research (BMFWF), builds on one year of partnership aimed at empowering postdoctoral researchers across Austria.

The initiative brings together seven leading Vienna-based research institutions to offer postdocs a full-day programme of workshops, expert talks, mentoring and networking opportunities. It targets career development inside academia, at the academic–industry interface and beyond.

“Excellent research requires reliable career prospects,” says Elmar Pichl, Head of Section at the BMFWF. “This cooperation underscores sector-spanning exchange and targeted support for emerging researchers.”

The event underscores the joint commitment of the LBG Career Center and the University of Vienna to expand support services, enhance visibility and increase choice for postdoctoral career paths.

Participation is free for all postdoctoral researchers at Austrian universities and research institutions; registration details can be found on the LBG Career Center website.
