Mag. Daniel Spichtinger, MA

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft, Grant Service
Independent Expert on EU research policy & open science

Daniel has over 6 years of experience in the European Commission where he worked as a Senior Policy and Project Officer for open access. Since 2018, he works as an independent EU Research Policy Specialist with core competencies in  the fields of EU research policy, open access, FAIR data, and EU proposal writing. Daniel is also employed at the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft as a Grant Service & Project Manager.

He holds a master’s degree in European Studies / Contemporary European Politics from the University of Bath as well as a master’s in English and a combination of Media Studies & History from the University of Vienna.

António Biason, MA, BA

European Commission, Legal and Policy Officer

António works for the European Commission as a Legal and Policy Officer since 2021 with core competencies in digital geopolitics, economic development, and human rights. He worked as a Deputy Attaché for Digital Policy at the Portuguese Permanent Representation to the European Union and as a Blue Book Trainee for the Southern African and Indian Ocean Unit of the European Union. With his variety of experience in the political sphere, he also worked as an independent researcher and archives consultant for the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.

António holds a master’s degree in International and European Law from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa as well as a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Kent.
